How do I know this website is safe?

Why do you need my Social Security Number?
Your Social Security number is used for the Identity Verification process required to create your account and start the identity monitoring services. During the sign-up process, Kroll uses your identifiers, such as your SSN, to display identity verification questions to which the answers are unique to your background information.
Why can't I share a same email address as the same username for my significant other and myself?
Your email address is used to login to our system and must be unique. If you received a message that your email already exists in our system, and/or you do not have a unique email address, you can find helpful information on how to complete the signup process here.
